Restoration Nature between Sustainability and Economy

Is it enough to protect Nature or do we really need the Nature Restoration Law? Our species has caused enormous damage to Natural Capital, using it beyond its possibilities and significantly altering 75% of the land and 66% of the seas. According to the IUCN, in the next 30 years we could lose half a million to a million species, with catastrophic consequences at the ecosystem level. So how should we proceed?

Is it enough to protect Natural Capital, as required by European legislation (Habitat Directive and similar) or do we need to do something else and more? What are the possible implementations of the Nature Restoration Law (EU Regulation 2024/1991 of the European Parliament) which came into force in August 2024. And how can the theme of Sustainability and Ecosystem Restoration be reconciled with the Economy? The participants in the online meeting will try to give an answer to all these questions.
